History of George W. Ziegler Machinery Co.

George W. Ziegler Machinery Co., Pittsburgh, PA, was a concrete machinery dealer and a manufacturer of concrete edgers and groovers. The company typically abbreviated their name to Geo. W. Ziegler Machinery Co., and known operating dates are 1917-1929. The company was named for George W. Ziegler (1877-1938). One example of their tools has shown up on eBay, and apparently they were offered in cast iron or bronze.

The Knox Concrete Block Machine

Knox was one of the brands sold by Sears, Roebuck & Co. in 1915.

History of Dearosa Manufacturing Co.

Hardware Age, Vol. 162, No. 3, 15 July 1948.

Dearosa Manufacturing Co. was operating in 1948 in Brooklyn, NY. They manufactured tools for plasterers and masons, including Blu-Lite finishing trowels and forged brick trowels. By 1952, the firm had moved to Mt. Vernon, NY, and was making forged brick trowels and hawks. They appear in directories through 1958.

History of H. Carter & Son

H. Carter & Son was a mid-1870s manufacturer of tools for foundry molders and plasterers. We have found references to the firm between 1870 and 1877. They were operating at 290 Pearl St., New York City, in 1873. Another product they made was J.W. Bemis's patent carriage jack.

At least one Carter molding tool has sold in recent years, according to WorthPoint.  
 

History of Tara Manufacturing Co.

Tara Manufacturing Co. was apparently organized after World War II to make various hardware items, including a limited line of forged brick trowels. The firm's address in 1956 was 2516 S. Archer Ave., Chicago, IL.
