Lawson and Heaton Trowels

Lawson and Heaton were tool makers in Birmingham, UK. Their trowels were marked with a distinctive triangular stamp. The firm was operated until at least 1973, when they issued a price list.  Graces Guide, Lawson and Heaton has more information about them.

  1. My grandfather who was born in 1905 had many tools which he gave to me after I married in 1982, he died two years later. Among these tools is a brick laying trowel which I have used many a time over the years. I recently cleaned it up removing all cement residue and discovered it to be a Lawson & Heaton. It also has a manufacturing stamp dated 1943. I recall my grandfather telling me as a child that he purchased a lot of tools from Government surplus shops after the war. I have no doubt this came from Tommy Best in Bath.
I can send a picture if you wish. As I said I use it to this day.
